Research Degrees
The Department of Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering offers a wide range of post-graduate MSc and PhD research opportunities. All students register first for an MSc. Any students wishing to pursue a PhD can transfer from the MSc during the course of their work – this is usually after about 1 year into their MSc. This transfer to the PhD is subject to an interview and the presentation of a report.
Funding may be available to high achieving students, and Departmental funding is sometimes available for specific research projects.
Information on any current internships or research funding available may be found on this website. However, the Department is always willing to discuss research opportunities in new areas.
