Our Facilities

Our laboratories provide the work space for researchers in the department to carry out experimental work to support theoretical and modelling outcomes, such as designing, constructing and testing materials under different environmental and structural conditions. Our facilities are also available for visiting academics through collaborative research projects with Our Staff in the Department. The laboratories house a broad range of instruments used by our department research groups that span our five Research Pillars: Energy; Environment; Geotechnics; Structures; and Transport.

The laboratories also provides a location for undergraduate and postgraduate students to have tutorials and experience the experimental background of information covered in lectures. In addition, the laboratories proved the space and equipment for students to undertake projects for their final year dissertations. Our technical staff have the experience to provide the necessary support for any experimental work in our laboratories, and they are actively working on both research and industrial projects.

We also have web pages managed by our technical staff that provides detail of the latest Research that is going on in the laboratories.
