Framework for the Assessment of Vulnerable Children & their Families. Assessment Tool and Practice Guidance


Senior Research Fellows are members of the College's staff, based in cognate academic departments, who have a close affiliation with the Centre. They supervise one or more projects in the Centre and serve on the Centre's Executive Committee.
Helen has been working in the Department of Social Studies since 1995 and has been a Senior Research Fellow in the Children's Research Centre since 2002. She was a member of the working group that produced Children First: national guidelines for the protection & welfare of children and has been involved in the development of local and national guidelines for voluntary and statutory children's services. She is currently a member of the Special Residential Services Board, and is on the panel appointed by the Minister for Health & Children to inquire into clerical child sexual abuse in the Diocese of Ferns. She is the author of Child Protection: Innovations & Interventions, published in 2002 by the IPA, and Child Protection Work: Beyond the Rhetoric, published in 2003 by Jessica Kingsley Publishers.
