Project Funder: Irish Human Rights Commission

Project Remit: To investigate the extent of prostitution in Ireland , the services available to prostitutes and to advise the IHRC on the legal position of Ireland in relation to human rights protections.

  • a questionnaire sent to all health and welfare providers that would be accessed by prostitutes with follow up interviews with key service providers
  • Focus groups to investigate the extent and quality of services available to those engaged in prostitution
  • a legal section interpreting Ireland 's responsibilities to prostitutes in relation to human rights commitments and also best practice models from other countries

The research will be presented to the IHRC in a final report in July 2006
