Restaurants and Coffee Shops
On campus, students have a wide choice of Restaurants and Coffee shops to suit all tastes and budgets. We serve Lavazza Coffee in all of our outlets, ethically sourced and superior quality. All outlets on campus are proudly operated and managed by Trinity College’s Catering Department.
The Buttery Food Court
Located just off the main square, the Buttery offers a wide range of food choices, this is a great place to meet and catch up with friends between lectures. We offer a full breakfast range, made-to-order deli bar featuring a wide range of breads and fillings, a hot food offer and salad bar and a Lavazza speciality premium coffee bar located in the Vaults. The Food Court regularly features 'meal deal' promotions or themed food events. Opening Hours: 8.00am to 4pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 3pm on Fridays.
Lavazza at the Arts Café
This busy cafe offers a sumptuous range of quality coffees, teas and hot chocolate. We also offer a range of hot and cold beverages, mouth-watering pastries, sandwiches and grab-and-go food offers. This is the ideal venue for those rushing from one appointment to another. There is also additional outdoor seating provided in Library Square. Opening Hours: 8.00am to 7pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 6pm on Fridays.
The Hamilton Restaurant
Located at the front of the Hamilton Building, this restaurant offers home from home comforts, a made to order sandwich bar, hot food offers and a full range of grab-and-go snacks and confectionery. Regular 'meal deals' and special promotions feature all year round. Opening Hours: 8.00am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4pm on Fridays.
Dining Hall Student Buffet
Located in historic surroundings off main square, students are served a selection of hot dishes, salads, soups and desserts and dine in the elegant splendour of the Dining Hall, this is open lunchtime only in term. Opening Hours: 12 noon to 3pm Monday to Friday
Lavazza at the Westland
This popular coffee shop serves premium hot beverages and a range of grab-and-go snacks and pastries, a great place to see or be seen! Opening Hours: 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday,
8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays.
Aras and Phiarsaigh Coffee Area
This little oasis at the centre of campus is a great place to grab a tea or coffee on the run. Kickstart your day in the “Aras”, ideally located near to the Day Nursery, the Theatre and the IT centre. If you need a “pick me up” during the day, you will not be disappointed. Opening Hours: 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 3.00pm on Fridays.

In addition to our staff being welcome at any of the restaurants listed above on campus, we would like to let you know about the following areas which are exclusively for staff of Trinity College.
The East Dining Hall
Accessed through the Common Room, the Dining hall or via the stairs at the rear of the Catering Building, this private dining room serves lunch, which includes a full range of hot meals, desserts and a salad bar. We also serve a choice of soups and daily specials and a made to order sandwich bar. Opening Hours: 12 noon to 3pm Monday to Friday
The 1592 Restaurant
This exclusive fine dining restaurant is ideal for staff who wish to entertain guests at lunchtime. Please see our 1592 website for further details. Opening Hours: 12.30pm to 2.30pm Monday to Friday
Off Campus Catering Outlets
For students in the School of Nursing & Midwifery in D’Olier Street, The Gas Café, operated by Carroll Food Services is located in the fabulous art deco atrium of this iconic building with signature fairtrade coffees and teas, and a range of fresh baked pastries, gourmet sandwiches and snacks. Opening Hours: 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday
For students located in either St James’ or Tallaght hospitals, Kylemore operate cafes in both sites with a premium Starbucks coffee offer, deli made-to-order sandwich range and grab-and-go snacks to suit all palates and pocket .
