Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission to the School's postgraduate research programmes are:

• M.Litt./M.Sc.:
  An excellent primary degree in a relevant discipline from a reputable institution.
• Ph.D.:
  An excellent primary degree in a relevant discipline from a reputable institution, and, preferably, a Masters degree from a reputable institution.

Since the demand for places is extremely high, these minimum requirements do not guarantee admission. Preference is given to the strongest academic applicants.

Closing Dates

The registration dates for new entrants are 28 and 29 September. It is essential that the application process will have begun not less than 6 – 8 weeks in advance of these dates in order to ensure timely completion. Applicants should note, however, that the closing date for funding applications is 30 April. Further details are available at the Graduate Studies web page.
