Brian has over thirty year’s experience, at senior levels, in both the financial services and utility industries. He held the position of Group CIO in ESB, for eight years, during which time he was involved in a number of major IT-enabled transformation projects in both Ireland and the US. In addition, Brian holds a PhD from Trinity Business School.
Brian delivers the Managing Information Systems module on the MBA programme where he concentrates on the role of Senior Management in large scale IT-enabled transformation programmes. His own current research interests are directed towards the evolving role of the CIO and their interactions within the Top Management Team. In addition, he is also involved with the Irish Computer Society in the development of Next Generation CIO’s for Irish organisations.
Brian Davis holds a PhD from Trinity College in Information Systems, where his research focuses on the role of the CIO and Top Management Teams. He worked with Bank of Ireland where he held a number of senior positions, including Corporate Lending Manager, Head of the SME Division, Head of Group Public Affairs and Managing Director of Bank of Ireland Finance. Since leaving Bank of Ireland he has provided accounting and financial consultancy and training to senior executives and owner managers in a range of large and small companies and public sector organisations throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the US.
