Bill Cockrum William M.Cockrum

William Cockrum is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of California, Los Angeles. Professor Cockrum is currently a Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance at the Price Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He teaches courses in Finance, Ethics, Investment Management, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership. He serves as a faculty interface to three student organizations: The Entrepreneur Association, the Student Investment Fund and Investment and Finance Club. Nominated by students for the school's outstanding teaching award and winner in 1986, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2003. Voted school's outstanding faculty member by alumni in 1993 Business Week Survey of Top Business Schools and noted as #1 teacher of Entrepreneurship in the United States by Business Week in December 1996.

He is a consultant to Chief Executive Officers concerning the operation of their organization regarding Boards of Directors, immediate subordinates, organization structure, strategy, marketing, finance, and administration. He currently resides on the UCLA Anderson Board of Visitors, Price Center Board of Advisors and Anderson Alumni Association. He is also involved with helping family businesses, estate planning, and has been summoned as an expert witness. He was Vice Chairman and Director of an investment banking business, A.G. Becker, which was sold to Merrill Lynch in 1984. He was one of the top six corporate officers (1973-1984) and Chief Financial Officer of this 3,000 employee organization. Professor Cockrum received his MBA with distinction from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. In addition, he graduated as a Baker Scholar with concentrations in Marketing and Finance.
