M Sc Finance class win All-Ireland CFA Global Investment Research Challenge

Four M Sc Finance students in the School of Business, Trinity College Dublin, have won the All-Ireland CFA Global Investment Research Challenge. The team, comprising Conor Maguire, Robert Skelton, Andreas Schmid and Mason Chesla competed against students from University of Ulster, NUI Galway, University College Cork and University College Dublin. The competition spanned 4 months from November to February. Teams of 3-5 students from each of the universities wrote a written report in the form of a stock recommendation on CRH and presented their investment case to a panel of five judges at the GIRC Final on 17th February at Davy offices, Dawson St. Paragon Executive Intelligence sponsored the team cash prize. The teams were guided by a faculty advisor and by a professional from the investment industry. 

They will now be competing at the European finals of this event in Istanbul, Turkey on 23 and 24 March 2010.
