Career Support
Career support is a constant theme throughout the year and consists of online access to top career sites, classes, workshops and one-on-one coaching from the College Career Advisory Service:
Careers Advisory Service:
The TCD Careers Advisory Service (CAS) offers a range of services and resources to assist students in preparing for, making, and implementing informed decisions about their future careers. We also work closely with the School of Business in providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to independently manage their careers after College.
Included in the many services provided by CAS are an extensive Careers Information Centre and an award-winning website. Both contain information on all aspects of the career-planning process, employment search, as well as details of ongoing career and graduate recruitment events. CAS also offers TCD students exclusive access to Vault’s Career Insider and the ‘Going Global’ resource with country specific information.
CAS also delivers an extensive programme of seminars including ‘CV Preparation’, ‘Application Forms’ and ‘Interview Techniques (with provision for practice interviews on video)’. In addition, students are invited to meet with an experienced careers adviser to discuss career options and to avail of computer-based guidance tools and aptitude testing programme.
The dedicated Civic Engagement Office can also help students to identify and pursue a volunteering opportunity which suits their needs, interests and availability and which will allow them to develop additional skills and confidence while studying at Trinity College.
CAS continues to provide careers support after graduation and this year, in association with Alumni Relations the very successful Trinity Alumni Career Network provided a five week expert lecture series to assist graduates seeking employment as well as those considering career change. Front Gate Online is the web based alumni community, which allows graduates to connect with other alumni and support current students.
