About the Course

The programme is designed for professional managers and analysts and those who wish to understand both the theory and the application of strategy, strategic planning, strategic thinking, and strategic management. The programme will draw from a wide range of theories that have shaped the field over the past 50 years and will help participants understand the application frameworks within which they can be developed. During the course of the programme, participants will undertake applied strategic analysis and can expect to be fluent in the process of stragegy development by the end of the course.

Who Should Attend?

The programme is suitable for a wide range of participants with a common requirement to understand and be capable of applying the concepts of strategy in an organizational setting. The programme is suitable for chief executive officers, senior directors and executives, functional heads, and specialists/analysts with responsibility for strategy development.

Course Structure

The programme is run in 'executive management' style with part-time attendance over one year. It is designed to ensure that each participating manager can be fully effective in his or her company while completing the programme.

The programme is designed across eight modules each of three days' duration. Each module has a core theme which develops the content in alignment with the strategy development process.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements fro the Post-Graduate Diploma in Management are:

  • A first or second class degree from the University of Dublin, Trinity College
  • A first or second class degree from a recognized university
  • A degree, diploma or professional qualification from a recognised institution and relevant work experience
  • Experience deemed to be of equivalent standing to academic or professional qualifications (normally at least several years of executive management responsibility)
