PhD and postdoctoral opportunities
Interested people should make contact to discuss possible projects. There are competitive awards available from the Irish Research Council that support both PhD and postdoctoral candidates.
Some of the research areas that we are particularly interested in at the moment include (but are not limited to):
- The epidemiology of neglected helminth infections including Ascaris and Toxocara
- Mouse models of (i) liver inflammation due to ascariasis and (ii) cerebral toxocariasis
- Helminth parasitism in native and introduced small mammal populations
- Parasites as ecosystem engineers in aquatic systems
