Postgraduate Symposium

The Zoology Postgraduate Symposium 2011, will be held on the 3rd and 4th of March in the M4 lecture theatre in the Museum Building.

Two very prestigious researchers kindly accepted our invitation to take part in the symposium as plenary speakers, Prof. Graeme Ruxton and Prof. Anne Magurran.

Prof. Graeme Ruxton is the Professor of Theoretical Ecology in the University of Glasgow and his main research interests are "mathematical modelling applied to population, behavioural and functional ecology".

Prof. Anne Magurran is the Professor of Ecology and Evolution in the University of St. Andrews and her main research interests are "in the measurement, evolution and conservation of biological diversity".

Mollusc Control Workshop and Darwin Seminar

A Workshop entitled "Biology and Control of the invasive Bivalves Dreissena polymorpha and Corbicula fluminensis" was presented by Prof. R. F. McMahon of the Biology Dept., UTA, Arlington, Texas. Please CLICK HERE to download the paper as a pdf.
