Professor of Zoology (1871)
The School of Natural Sciences seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate to the prestigious Professor of Zoology (1871) in the area of Ecological and Evolutionary Systems. The successful applicant will commence in post in September 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Professor will lead ecology and evolutionary systems research in Trinity College – within the central unifying theme – Sustainable Society. The appointee will be actively involved in the continued development of the E3 institute (Engineering, Energy and Environment); a joint initiative between the School of Natural Sciences and the School of Engineering.
The successful candidate will have a strong international reputation in their research field, be an outstanding leader and facilitator of research and an excellent communicator at all levels, including to undergraduate and postgraduate students. They will be expected to undertake research, and through their research group’s activities enhance the research culture of the School. They should also be an excellent educator with commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education.
