General Tax Information
The Tax year operates from 1st January to the 31st December each year. As the budget takes place in December, any changes to rates etc. is not available from revenue in time for the new tax year. Therefore the previous years tax credit and standard rate cut off information is carried forward into the new tax year and used until such time as Revenue forward the updated information (usually February). Upon receipt of the updated information, employee records are updated with the new credits etc. and any adjustments made are reflected in the next Payroll Run.
The Tax Office has also reminded us that staff should ensure that all personal details are up todate. So if you have changed address since you received your last certificate please inform your tax branch ASAP.
PAYE Exclusion Orders
Teachers and Researchers coming from abroad to work at Trinity College may, in certain circumstances, be entitled to seek from the Revenue Commissioners an order granting exlusion from the payment of income tax in Ireland.
