Academic Staff

We support academic staff in providing learning support to their students. When you give your students an assignment, an essay or ask them to prepare and deliver a presentation you can direct them to the resources we have developed specifically for them. Click on the tabs on the left-hand menu to see resources for undergruates and postgraduates.

You can also direct them to our Blackboard module ASSL- Academic Skills for Successful Learning. This has a large range of learning resources in a variety of formats. It is a self-enrol module. Instructions on how to enrol can be found at http://student-learning.tcd.ie/blackboard/.

Facilitating department-based workshops

We also run customised workshops which are tailored specifically to the needs of a specific department e.g. exam skills for nursing students. Several academic departments offer these workshops to their students as a way of improving their learning skills.

Embedding Learning Skills Development in your curriculum/Blackboard module

A goal of SLD is to help departments to embed learning skills development in their curricula. To this end, we are happy to liaise with staff in departments to develop appropriate resources.
