PhD Thesis Writing Course – Social Science/Humanities
Need help with writing your thesis? Learn habits of fluent writing.
This short course is designed for 1st year PhD students in the social sciences and humanities who are in the early stages of research and writing.
This course will consist of five sessions covering*:

Interactive reading and notetaking – “collect notes not articles or books”

Creating focus statements
-
Outlining – from one page to long outline with references
-
Developing regular writing routine
-
Overcoming writer’s block
-
Role of revision
The sessions will take place on Fridays 11:30 – 1:00pm on the following dates:
9th November, 16th November, 23rd November and 30th November. A follow-up session will take place in January.
You are expected to commit to attending all sessions and to share, encourage and learn from others.
