Trish Murphy

Trish Murphy

Trish is a fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist, trainer and consultant working in private practice, business and academic fields. Trish first started working in counselling in third level in 1995 and enjoyed it so much that she has continued to work part time in this area since! She has further qualifications in Mediation & Conflict Resolution and is equally comfortable working with groups or individuals. Trish has in excess of a decade of experience in training, lecturing & teaching. Currently, Trish divides her work between working privately as a psychotherapist, organisational training & development, employee assistance programmes and student counselling. She has been a prominent speaker and presenter on issues relating to young people in the media and is regularly featured on TV, Radio, newspapers and magazines.

Trish is the ex-chair of the Family Therapy Association and currently sits on the board of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy. Trish has a B.Soc.Sc. from UCC and a CQSW (Postgraduate professional qualification) from UCD. She has an M.A. in Women’s Studies from UCD and an M.Soc.Sc. in Psychotherapy also from UCD. She has additional qualifications in Mediation (Clanwilliam Institute) and Emotional Intelligence (RocheMartin). Trish is registered with FTAI (Family Therapy Association of Ireland), ICP (Irish Council for Psychotherapy) and EAP (European Association for Psychotherapy).
