Sports Scholarship Student Runner Up at African Games
Third year Computer Science & Business student, Prakash Vijayanath, competed recently for his native South Africa in the 11th African Games in Brazzaville and won the silver medal in the men’s individual Badminton event. Comprising 22 sports, the formerly named All African Games takes place every 4 years and was another opportunity for Prakash to enhance his selection ambitions for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. He reached the final of the individual event by beating the 2 time Olympian and number 1 ranked African, before losing to the number 2 ranked African player, Jacob Maliekal. Prakash also won silver in the Team Event which was won by Mauritius.
