Sports Centre building works - update three

Published: 12th May 2017

Work begins on the Sports Centre reconfiguration project next week. Anyone who visited the centre this week will have noticed that preparations for this are well underway.

At this stage in the project the noticeable difference for service users will be a revised entry route as of next week (see above image).

Areas of main works on the ground floor will be screened off and a new temporary reception desk will be installed in front of the window overlooking the swimming pool as of Monday.

In addition, from Monday, all service users will need to scan their membership cards at reception as entry gates will be temporarily removed to facilitate building works.

As advised previously we are anticipating an increased level of noise due to the construction works along with reduced floor space in the gym so we do appreciate your understanding in relation to this. It’s a bit like exercise - just think of it as short-term pain for long-term gain!

A reminder too that we will be posting weekly project updates on our website and social media channels. In the meantime if you have a specific query you can email Sport Service & Experience Manager Eamon Cusack on
