Gold Standard hat-trick for Trinity Sport

Published: 15th November 2016

Trinity Sport has won the highest accolade possible at this year’s White Flag National Standard awards, the annual ceremony for the leisure industry which took place at the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone.

Trinity won Gold for the third successive year, in recognition of its codes of excellence in the areas of safety, hygiene, customer engagement and human resources. In all, there were over 100 entrants for this year's event.

The White Flag National Standard, the only quality award and measurement of standards for gyms, swimming pools and leisure amenities throughout Ireland, are much sought after within the industry. Winners are chosen following a comprehensive audit of their premises.

Trinity Sport Duty Managers Niamh Rudden and Orla O’Brien, along with Operations Manager Jonathan Fitzpatrick, were on hand to collect the award from RTE’s Marty Morrissey who was MC for the event.

The White Flag National Standard is open to any leisure or fitness centre and is based on the four operational areas of safety, hygiene, customer engagement and human resources. It is designed to encourage continuous improvement and is categorised into gold, silver or bronze, similar to the Blue Flag award which classifies Ireland’s beaches.
