Islandbridge upgrade announcement
Published: 1st September 2016
Boat storage for DUBC and DULBC at Islandbridge has been an ongoing problem in recent years. Now Trinity Sport is pleased to announce that we’ve now found a temporary solution to this issue, which will allow boats to be manoeuvred and stored safely at the site.
Contractors working on behalf of the College and Trinity Sport have already completed some work clearing designated trees from the far corner of Islandbridge. This week work began to remove the current old storage container while next week new storage installation and access ground works will commence.
In all, this process should take no longer than a few weeks to complete. However this is dependent on there being no delays due to archaeology finds or building issues.
Estates and Facilities staff are liaising with the contractors to ensure smooth running of the project and there shouldn’t be too much disruption to users while works are underway.
Users of the boathouse and clubs are being asked to ensure they observe any restrictions or safety parameters in place during this time.
