TR071 Science consists of four patterns each of which is explained by the following.
Options
Each option block is 10 ECTS credits (Maths and Physics are 10 + 10 = 20). You take 30 ECTS in each of the two Semesters = 60 ECTS in the year.
| Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
|---|---|
| Biology BY1101 | Biology BY1102 |
| Chemistry CH1101 | Chemistry CH1102 |
| Geography GG1021 | Geography GG1022 |
| Maths Methods MA1M01 | Foundation Physics PY1F01 |
| Maths MA1S11 | Maths MA1S12 |
| Physics PY1P10 | Physics PY1P20 |
| Geology GL1101 |
Pattern 1
| Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
|---|---|
| Maths MA1S11 | Maths MA1S12 |
| Physics PY1P10 | Physics PY1P20 |
And two of the following (one from each semester)
| Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
|---|---|
| Biology BY1101 | Biology BY1102 |
| Chemistry CH1101 | Chemistry CH1102 |
| Geography GG1021 | Geography GG1022 |
| Geology GL1101 |
What you can do as a Moderatorship
Depending on which options you take in the first and second year: Chemistry, Geology, Physics and Physics with Astrophysics
What you cannot do as a Moderatorship
Biochemistry, Botany, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Geography, Functional Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Medicine, Neuroscience, Physiology and Zoology.
Pattern 2
| Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
|---|---|
| Maths MA1S11 | Maths MA1S12 |
And four of the following (two from each semester)
| Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
|---|---|
| Foundation Physics PY1F01 | |
| Biology BY1101 | Biology BY1102 |
| Chemistry CH1101 | Chemistry CH1102 |
| Geography GG1021 | Geography GG1022 |
| Geology GL1101 |
What you can do as a Moderatorship
Depending on which options you take in the first and second year: Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Geography, Geology, Functional Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Medicine, Neuroscience, Physiology and Zoology.
But note an example of prerequisites:
If you wished to take Neuroscience through Pattern 2 then your first year options would have to include Maths, Chemistry 101, Chemistry 102, Biology 101 and Biology 102.
What you cannot do as a Moderatorship
Physics or Physics with Astrophysics .
Pattern 3
| Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
|---|---|
| Maths Methods MA1M01 |
And five of the following (two from each semester 1 and three from semester 2)
| Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
|---|---|
| Foundation Physics PY1F01 | |
| Biology BY1101 | Biology BY1102 |
| Chemistry CH1101 | Chemistry CH1102 |
| Geography GG1021 | Geography GG1022 |
| Geology GL1101 |
What you can do as a Moderatorship
Depending on which options you take in the first and second year: Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Geography, Geology, Functional Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Medicine, Neuroscience and Zoology.
But note an example of prerequisites:
If you wished to keep Chemistry open as a degree path then you would have to take Chemistry 101 and Chemistry 102.
What you cannot do as a Moderatorship
Physics or Physics with Astrophysics.
Pattern 4
| Semester 1 | Semester 2 |
|---|---|
| Biology BY1101 | Biology BY1102 |
| Chemistry CH1101 | Chemistry CH1102 |
| Geography GG1021 | Geography GG1022 |
| Geology GL1101 |
What you can do as a Moderatorship
Depending on which options you take in the first and second year: Botany, Environmental Sciences, Geography and Geology.
Note this pattern gives limited options for degree paths.
What you cannot do as a Moderatorship
Biochemistry, Chemistry, Genetics, Functional Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Medicine, Neuroscience, Physics, Physics with Astrophysics, Physiology and Zoology.
