Business Studies and Russian

Programme: This programme allows students to combine the study of business-related subjects with a language.

Russian course content: In all years the Department provides intensive study of the Russian language, Russian society and institutions. In their final year students write a dissertation in Russian on a Russian related topic.

Residence in Russia: BSL students spend their third year on an approved course in the School of Management, St Petersburg University. They are also required to do a two-month job placement in Russia before entering the final year.

  Elementary to intermediate Russian (the written and spoken language)
  Introduction to Russia's past and present (historical, cultural and geo-political issues in Russia

• Year 2
  Intermediate to advanced Russian (the written and spoken language)
  Introduction to current political, economic and social issues in Russia

• Year 3
  Spent in Russia

• Year 4
  Advanced Russian (the written and spoken language)
  Dissertation in Russian on a business topic and presentation
  Contemporary Russian society
