Objective of the Project The objective of the STAMINA project was to develop a best-practice approach and suite of human factors for the aircraft maintenance industry.
Summary of the Project The STAMINA project developed an integrated human factors training solution for aircraft maintenance. Core human factors training materials were supplemented by additional materials addressing the specific roles of supervisors, managers and trainers. The training was developed by thorough analysis of training needs and drawing on cutting-edge human factors research in the industry, particularly the ADAMS project.
Details of the Project STAMINA is an integrated human factors training solution for aircraft maintenance. Core human factors training materials are supplemented by additional materials addressing the specific roles of supervisors, managers and trainers.
STAMINA materials represent a unique resource, drawing together generic human factors knowledge with the findings of focused research in the maintenance domain.
The STAMINA core course comprises a comprehensive set of human factors training materials that can stand alone as a core human factors training course and also form the basis of individual courses for other personnel such as managers, supervisors and trainers. Additional modules address specific needs of the different trainee groups.
The training methodology used involves very active learning. Presentations by the trainer are kept brief. Classroom learning is supported by hand-outs which explain topics in more detail.
