Friday Seminar Series 2009-2010

Amended Guidelines for Graduate Student Presentations (2009/2010)

1. For first-year students we will keep presentations to ten minutes, followed by a five-minute discussion by a faculty member. First-year students are required to circulate a two-page outline/memo prior to their presentation. The memo should be submitted no later than Tuesday afternoon.
2. For second-year students we will limit presentations to fifteen minutes each, followed by a five-minute discussion by a third- or fourth-year student. Second-year presenters are required to circulate a five-page outline to everybody by Monday afternoon.
3. For third- and fourth-year students we will limit presentations to 20 minutes each. Third- and fourth-year students are required to submit a research paper or dissertation chapter a week ahead of their scheduled presentation. The presentations will be followed by a ten-minute discussion by a designated faculty member.
