Former postgraduate students who began their doctoral work prior to the introduction of the PhD programme in 1995
Prior to 1995, the department had no PhD programme as such, but over the years it had a number of doctoral students (including one described in his Wikipedia entry as 'the world's most decorated foreign correspondent') and many excellent theses emerged from their work.
