  • Chair (1960) in Political Science
    The Department is seeking to appoint a Professor to the Chair of Political Science (1960). Closing date 28 November 2016.
  • PSAI prize for Dr Will Phelan
    At the annual conference of the PSAI in Belfast on 8 October, the Brian Farrell prize for the best book published in 2015 was awarded to Dr Will Phelan for his book In Place of Inter-State Retaliation (Oxford University Press, 2015).
  • New appointment in Political Science
    The Department welcomes Dr Emanuel Coman, who joins us from the University of Oxford. Dr Coman researches in the area of comparative politics and he teaches Government and Politics of the USA as well as policy-making in the EU.
  • Dr Peter Stone interviewed by BBC Radio
    Dr Peter Stone spoke recently to the BBC World Service programme 'The Enquiry' about the use of lotteries to select university students - Peter's interview starts at 17:23 in the attached link.
  • Prof Michael Marsh elected to RIA
    On 27 May Professor Michael Marsh was inducted as a member of the Royal Irish Academy, having been elected as one of 22 new members admitted in 2016 in recognition of his outstanding research.
  • Dr Michelle D'Arcy presented with Provost's Teaching Award
    On 25 May Dr Michelle D'Arcy was one of three lecturers across the whole of College presented with a Provost's Teaching Award in recognition of her outstanding teaching and her dedication to her students both as a teacher and a mentor.
  • Ronald J Hill Prize Awarded
    The Department congratulates Christopher McMahon (Law and Political Science). Christopher is the inaugural winner of the Ronald J Hill prize awarded annually for performance in Schol in honour of Professor Ron Hill, a distinguished member of the department from 1969 to 2007.
