Caveat emptor!

Most of the surveys archived here were carried out by commercial companies for the Irish news media. Copies of the raw data have been obtained, and SPSS files compiled with variable and value labels as extensive as SPSS allows. However, most do not have questionnaires attached; nor have the data been cleaned.They are stored here as in compressed form as SPSS 6.1 portable.

Users can make some of their own checks by looking at published results, or at crosstabulations reported for most of these polls in in the Irish Opinion Poll Archive.That archive also contains the full wording of questions and details about the date and sampling methods of surveys contained there.

The Archive is freely available.However, publications using data obtained here should give proper acknowledgment both to the Archive and to those who commissioned and carried out the original surveys.
