Two post-doc positions in my group. Two post-docs positions are available to work on numerical modelling of interacting stellar and exoplanetary outflows (ASTROFLOW project). Start date between Q4/2018 and Q2/2019. More details on how to apply will be posted here late spring/early summer 2018. If interested, please contact me by email.
The ASTROFLOW project is funded by the Irish Research Council, under the 2017-2018 Laureate Awards.
PhD position in my group: A PhD position is available to work on “Stellar winds of M dwarfs: Can red stars host habitable exoplanets?”. The student will work under supervision of Dr Aline Vidotto at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. The project involves the use of 3D state-of-the-art numerical codes to model winds of M dwarfs and assess the wind interaction with orbiting exoplanets. M dwarfs are currently the main targets in searches for potentially-habitable terrestrial exoplanets. The work will make use of magnetic maps derived from observations through the Bcool consortium and through the SPIRou Legacy Survey. Deadline for application submission: 18 March 2018. Preferred start date: 3 Sept 2018.
Trinity College Dublin has launched 40 fully funded PhD positions across a wide variety of disciplines. The 40 Provost’s PhD Project Awards are open to EU and Non-EU candidates and include an annual stipend of €16,000/year for four years. These doctoral awards are generously funded through alumni donations and Trinity’s Commercial Revenue Unit. #ProvostPhD
