About

Dr. Ramesh is Principal Investigator and Senior Research Fellow in School of Physics and CRANN. Dr Ramesh graduated from UDCT, University of Bombay, India in 1998 with a Ph.D. in Chemistry. He has over 15 years of experience in polymer processing, nanocomposites and characterisation. Before joining in TCD he have worked in Clariant Gmbh and Asahi-Kasei Corporation, Japan, Central development and research labs where his work was involved developing polymer based products for various applications including membranes, packaging films, foams and automotive components. His current research encompasses application of polymer composites in various industrial and medical device applications. As a part of Enterprise Ireland PAT programme he worked extensively with various polymer and medical device companies in Ireland to solve various product related problems and develop new products based on nanotechnology. He co-authored 29 peer reviewed papers in international journals and an inventor of 5 patent applications. He is also director for Bioplastech, Start-up Company (www.bioplastech.net).

Dr. Ramesh is also principal investigator in Competence Centre for Bio energy and Bio refinery (http://www.tcbb.ie/) and Technology Centre for Applied Nanotechnology ( http://www.ccan.ie). The Competence Centres are established and led by industry, and initially funded by Enterprise Ireland and the IDA Ireland. The Vision of the Competence Centres provide cutting edge research and development outputs to support a sustainable and competitive Irish industry.
