Dr. Bossi jointed the PMNC group in 2016, as research fellow in School of Physics & CRANN at Trinity College. She got master degree in Chemistry at Università di Milano in 2011, with thesis about MOFs, supervisor Prof L. Carlucci. Working as an industrial researcher, she successfully completed the PhD in Materials Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, supervisor Prof. L. De Nardo.
During PhD, she worked on food and organic electronics packaging. She formulated and characterized hybrid sol-gel-based coatings with strong and durable antioxidant properties, able to adhere on polymer substrate. Concerning organic electronics, the research was performed by SAES Getters S.p.A. Corporate Labs as contribute to the European Project SUNFLOWER. She optimized epoxy- and acrylic-based adhesive formulations, for fulfilling process conditions and WVTR requirements. The final product is a state-of-the-art flexible and transparent adhesive for multi-layered ultra-high barrier, enabling long-life flexible organic device (e.g. OPVs and OLEDs) manufacturing.
The aim of her current research is the development of superior materials for organic electronics using nano-fillers for better performance PSAs as gas barriers.
