Introduction

My current research mainly focuses on characterisation of low-dimensional nano-structures and the fabrication of devices by ultramicroscopy. I got my PhD degree in Condensed Matter Physics from Peking University in 2012. I joined the Ultramicroscopy research group as a postdoctoral research fellow from 2012.

Research

Helium-ion microscope on graphene and other 1D/2D structures. I am using Helium-ion microscope for the modification of nanostructures, which includes controllable defect generation and structural modification by Helium ion beam. I am also investigating the contrast mechanism of the Helium-ion microscope and developing Helium ion lithography and direct milling techniques.

Design, fabrication, and characterization of nanodevices based on 1D/2D structures. I am using graphene and other nanostructures (ZnO, BN, MoS2, Topological insulators, etc.) to fabricate Field effect transistors (FETs) and investigate their applications such as nano-sensors and nano-optical sources. I am also interested in their transport properties.

Nanoscale manipulation of materials. Currently I am using an in-situ nano-manipulator system for the manipulation of nanostructures under optical microscopes and electron microscopes, which includes the transfer and bending of nanostrucures. I am also working on the system set-up of in-situ CL(cathodo-luminescence) system and its characterization of nano-structures (ZnO nanowires, etc.)
