Are you looking for a course that gives you a broad education and flexibilty in your choice of career?
A physics degree prepares you for a wide range of careers. Currently there are not enough physics graduates to satisfy employers' needs, and the Government is calling for more students to study physics at third level.
Our physics degree courses cover a broad syllabus from hands-on practical (including experience in a real research laboratory in the final year), through topics of importance in modern technology and their applications, to more theoretical topics such as elementary particles.
What Physics courses does Trinity College offer?
All the physics degree courses listed below are recognised by the Institute of Physics, which is the professional body for physicists in Ireland and the UK.
There are four Physics 'Moderatorships' (degree courses) at Trinity College:
- Physics within the Science moderatorship (TR071)
- Physics and Astrophysics within the Science moderatorship (TR071)
- Theoretical Physics (TR035)
- Nanoscience, Physics and Chemistry of Advanced Materials (TR076), http://www.tcd.ie/nanoscience/
