Title: Surface and Interface Physics
Secondary Navigation
The Surface and Interface Physics research group in Trinity College comprises of three principal investigators specialising in specific areas. Professor John McGilp is growing and capping both non-magnetic and magnetic nanostructures by molecular beam epitaxy and is using new linear and nonlinear optical and magneto-optical techniques to help characterise the buried structures and their interfaces.
Professor Iggy McGovern investigates the structural and electronic properties of organic-inorganic semiconductor interfaces using synchrotron radiation techniques. Dr Cormac McGuinness specialises in the application of x-ray spectroscopic techniques to the investigation of the electronic structure of materials.
