Advances in Polymer Materials and Technologies


 

Materials Ireland (MI) is a national commercial research and development organisation focusing on industrial materials technologies, particularly on the processing of industrial materials. In terms of polymers, a single point of access to specific expertise is supplied through the Polymer Development Centre in Athlone, the Polymer Research Centre in TCD as well as through the Materials Ireland Research Centre in the University of Limerick. 

The Polymer Processing Research Centre (PPRC) in The Queen’s University of Belfast, is a market driven multidisciplinary research centre providing the necessary infrastructure to support the activities of the plastics industry, primarily in Northern Ireland.It builds on a strong base of successful collaboration between Queen’s and the local industry and carries out fundamental and applied research on all aspects of polymer processing. 

The Plastics Industry Association (PIA) is the representative organisation for the Irish Plastics industry and operates as a division of IBEC Membership includes both plastics processors and suppliers to the Industry.PIA programmes and activities cover a wide range of areas including Education links, Industrial training, Environmental issues, Networking and promotion of R&D.
