Postgraduate Opportunities

There are research opportunities for new graduate students in the following areas. Most projects will begin in October 2010.

• Magnetic logic: A project to develop new approaches to logic using devices based on MgO barrier magnetic tunnel junctions.
  
  
• Organic spin electronics: The object is to build a working spin transistor using an organic semiconductor.
  
  
• Pulsed magnetic field stimulation of neuron circuits.
  
  
• Real-time reflection for determining the spin polarization in new magnetic materials.
  
  
• Radio frequency investigation of spin dynamics in nanopillars.
  
  
• Nanoscale magnetic field gradients for optimized fuel cell electrodes. A project in magnetoelectrochemistry to improve energy efficiency.
