Home: Dublin, Ireland

Position: Postgraduate student

Education: B.A. Mod Experimental Physics TCD 2005

Current Projects: Spin Valves, spin torque and microwave measurements

Specialties: Shamrock sputter deposition, patterning, fixing computers with closed eyes.

Activities/Interests: Traveling the world and enjoying the view! Finding strange uses for old computers and playing various Nintendo consoles. Listening to loud heavy rockin music. Making sure everyone laughs, even if its at me.

Favourite Haunt: The Pav, though O'Neills (pearse street) is slowly claiming the title

Brief Bio:
Ciaran completed his undergraduate degree in TCD. His final year project in Regensburg , Germany with Prof. Ganichev was on Rashba and Dresselhaus splittings in 2DEG quantum wells. He then started PhD work in 2005 with Prof. Coey in the area of spinelectronics.
