Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarships
Trinity College Dublin Philosophy Department welcomes applications for Irish Research Council (IRC) Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarships 2018. These awards offer scholarships for suitably qualified individuals to pursue a PhD to begin study in September 2018. The awards consist in a stipend, fees contribution, and generous research expenses.
Ranked among the top 100 philosophy departments in the world (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2016) we are a small and student-friendly Department which offers world-class undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in philosophy. We have a well-established international reputation for innovative research across many areas of philosophy. While much of our research is in the broad analytical tradition, this is complemented by a strong interest in history of philosophy. We have special strengths in metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of language, philosophy of religion and ethics, as well as expertise in ancient philosophy, medieval philosophy, early modern philosophy, modern European philosophy and history of analytic philosophy. The department regularly hosts international visiting speakers, workshops and conferences, and our postgraduate community is a lively and active part of the research environment.
