Terms of Reference
Proposed Terms of Reference for the Partnership Committee
- The Committee will facilitate and oversee the development and
implementation of partnership structures in Trinity College.
- The Committee will assist in the implementation of change and
modernisation in the College and will provide a way for input
into the development of organisational strategy. It will provide
a forum for consultation and participation on major strategic
proposals.
- The Committee will assist in enhancing communications and participation.
- The Committee will help to improve organisation performance
and efficiency, the working environment and the delivery of services.
- The Committee will complement existing staff relations structures
and procedures.
- The Committee may make recommendations to the Personnel and
Appointments Committee.
- The Committee is established in line with the requirements and
spirit of National Agreements and will consider, approve and assist
in the implementation of plans for change and modernisation required
by the terms of such agreements.
Membership
The Committee will have no more than 16 members and will include
union, staff and management representatives. Half of the agreed
number will be nominated by the ICTU group in College.
Chair of the Committee
The Committee will have joint chairpersons and the way such chairpersons
will function will be agreed within the Committee.
Duration
The Partnership Committee will review these terms of reference
within two years.
Training
The Committee when established will commence its work with appropriate
training as agreed within the Committee. Trinity College will become
a member of the Skillnets Partnership Programme and use that body
to provide appropriate training and facilitation as decided by the
Committee.
Procedures for the Committee
The first task for the Committee will be to agree procedural rules.
The above terms of reference were considered by the Personnel and
Appointments Committee on 22 September 2003 and are recommended
to Board for approval at the meeting on 24 September 2003 so as
to enable the formal establishment of the Partnership Committee.
