The aim of the Postgraduate Certificate in Dementia is to facilitate students to develop a comprehensive academic and evidence-based approach to their practice, to critically explore and critique dementia care service provision. The design is such that it will promote collaboration between disciplines of nursing, medicine, occupational therapy, social work and other professionals working with persons living with dementia and their families/significant others.

Graduates of this course, in applying their learning, will be enabled to promote and develop excellence in dementia care in their practice setting thus ensuring that people with dementia live a dignified and meaningful life.

As an online student, each week a new session will be available for you to study through our online learning environment, Blackboard. Testimonial

"Although presented in a unique educational medium, the online PG Certificate in Dementia that I studied last year was certainly an interesting and very enriching experience which motivated me to continue on and take up PG Diploma this year.  I would highly recommend this course to other healthcare professionals and to my colleagues too as I have learned a lot from it. This course has impacted my current dementia care practice. It has expanded my knowledge base and understanding of dementia and my skills have enhanced in delivering quality care for patients and their families within the acute care setting. The contents and materials used were outstanding and well delivered in a systematic manner.  The lectures were easy to follow and there was a depth of information provided to us in each session/topic week after week. We also had an opportunity to engage interactively with other participants and lecturers that enriched our online learning environment."
