Accessing EndNote Web
EndNote Web is an online version of EndNote. Any member of Trinity College Dublin can sign up for an EndNote web account using a PC on campus. From here it is possible to set up an account which will allow EndNote Web to be accessed from any location both on and off campus.
Unlike the normal EndNote program, EndNote Web can be used on personal PCs free-of-charge as part of Trinity College Library Dublin's licence arrangement. The software is therefore particularly recommended for use by undergraduate, Diploma and taught Masters students, who have generally not been provided with a Trinity College Dublin PC.
Accounts set up in this way are valid for 12 months from the login date. The above access is controlled by Adept Scientific and the Library cannot be held responsible if they change access or conditions without notice. The 12-month period is reset by logging into EndNote Web from the College domain (i.e., a PC on campus). This is important if the user is leaving Trinity College Dublin; users can theoretically gain another 12 months of access from other PCs by doing this before they leave. The Library recommends exporting the EndNote Library from within EndNote Web for backup purposes at the end of every academic year and before leaving Trinity. Those finishing at Trinity may also wish to purchase the full version at a discounted rate before they leave and import the EndNote Web Library; purchasing the software also gives another two years' access to EndNote Web.
Visit the Adept Scientific EndNote Web page for more details. A comparison table of EndNote Web and EndNote is available.
EndNote Web is not specifically supported by the Library, training concentrates on the using the full EndNote program. However, a Guide to EndNote Web (PDF 519KB) written by Library staff is available to download, or view the official EndNote Web training videos.
