Photography and Filming

Photography or filming is not normally allowed in the Old Library. However those wishing to film or photograph for media or educational purposes should send a written proposal in advance by contacting us. Notice of at least ten working days must be given to Visitor Services for any proposal to be considered and is subject to the following considerations:

• Minimum disruption to visitors, staff and students in the Old Library
• Adherence to all relevant health and safety requirements
• Availability of staff to supervise the filming/photography session
• Relevance of filming/photography to the Old Library and Trinity College Dublin
• Filming/photography may be subject to fees/costs

Please note that filming or photographing the Book of Kells is never permitted. For images of the Book of Kells and other manuscripts please contact Digital Resources and Imaging Services at digitalresources@tcd.ie.
