Biography

Maria Antonieta Nestor (nee Pincheira Zambrano) holds a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from University College Dublin (UCD) and an LLM from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). She was the first foreign student to be admitted into the prestigious David J. Epstein Programme in Public Interest Law & Policy in August 2008, where she piloted an LLM specialization. She also holds a diploma in journalism and is a UCLA-trained legal interpreter and translator. She is also the co-founder and co-editor of The Irish Review of CED Law & Policy, an online journal published by the NCLC. Maria Antonieta is currently undertaking a PhD in public interest law and policy, focusing on community economic development (CED). Her main research objectives concern how CED can facilitate and improve the civil legal aid system in Ireland as well as how it interacts under a wider scope.
