Biography
Eva Barrett holds an LL.B. in Law & European Studies (German, Politics, 2004) from the University of Limerick and a Diploma in Employment Law from the Law Society of Ireland (2008). She qualified as a Solicitor while working for A&L Goodbody Solicitors in February 2009 and worked in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy and Transport from October 2009 to March 2010, before commencing her research under the supervision of Alex Schuster in April 2010.
Eva has acted as a Part-Time Lecturer on the LLM course in Griffith College Dublin and has been an invited Guest Lecturer on the LLM module for European Energy Law in Trinity College Dublin, and on the EU Law and Policy module at the University of Denver, Colorado. Eva has also been a Teaching Assistant (for EU Law) in the TCD Law School since 2010. Eva’s research explores the duties of the Irish State to develop on-shore wind generated electricity; from authorisation and development to generation and sale. The project was awarded an Irish Research Council Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship in 2011 and a Postgraduate Scholarship for the Irish Association of Law Teachers (IALT) Annual Conference in 2012.
