Irish Art and its Contexts
This foundation course is designed to present a survey of the development of Irish art from the prehistoric period to the present, exploring the contexts which were instrumental in determining such issues as style, form and content. In addition to considering the various transformations and revivals over time, the course will address as appropriate such issues as the education of artists, the influence of travel, forums for display, studio practice, and conventions of representation.
