Art and Architecture of Ireland

5 Volumes

Staff, post-doctoral staff and alumni of the department are principal contributors to The Art and Architecture of Ireland, five volumes produced for the Royal Irish Academy and published by Yale University Press.

Rachel Moss is editor and principal contributor to volume one on Medieval Art and Architecture

Ellen Rowley, White post-doctoral fellow at TRIARC, is editor of volume four on Architecture 1600-2000, along with alumni Livia Hurley and John Montague, and Hugh Campbell and Rolf Loeber.

Alumni of the History of Art and Architecture department have contributed to all five volumes, current and Emeritus staff have served on advisory boards and no less than six of the ten editors are alumni, staff, or research staff of the department.

Nicola Figgis (Alumna) edited volume two (Painting, 1600-1900), and Catherine Marshall (Alumna) is joint editor with Peter Murray of volume 5 (Twentieth Century).

In addition, PhD candidates with TRIARC and the Department contributed as Research Assistants. The Royal Irish Academy and the Executive Board for the project were represented by Emeritus staff, while various cultural institutions were represented by alumni.
