On this webpage you can find out how you can help us reduce our water use and wastewater generation.




You can find a list of tips for reducing water use and wastewater generation by clicking on the 'What can I do' green button.


By clicking on the 'Baseline and Results' green button you can view the water efficiency and the amount of waste water generated on TCD between 2009 and 2011. You can also see the targets we are trying to achieve by 2017.


The 'Green Map' green button leads you to the green map page where you can find the Locations of drinking water fountains, toilets, showers and water saving projects.



TCD - some Facts & Figures


  • TCD has, like all commercial and public bodies, to pay for water consumption and has had to do so for many years.
  • TCD water is charged at 1.99e for each 1,000 litres.
  • The unit cost of water has consistently risen over the last 10 years by 4% to 5% per year due to rising production cost of drinking water.
  • College has invested in internal main water mains upgrades and within building measures to minimise water consumption.
  • New Square East Residences which are currently under refurbishment will be the 1st Colleges residences to have a rain water harvesting system to service WC flushing.
