College's Waste Management procedures are based on the three R's of reduce, reuse & recycle, i.e. reduce the amount of waste that is produced in College, reuse whatever materials we can and recycle whatever we can to ensure that the bare minimum of waste is sent to landfill. By following these procedures we can greatly reduce the amount of unnecessary waste produced by College and make a considerable financial saving by reducing the amount of ever increasing landfill charges that College has to pay. The 'How to be Green' section of this website gives practical information on how to follow the three R's policy.
Following the appointment of a new waste management contractor 'Greyhound' a new system is currently being devised to measure the quantity of waste and recycled material. New statistical tables will be published shortly.
