List of tips for resource use & sustainable food:

  • Local: Increase use of food produced on Island of Ireland.
  • Eco-sensitive: Use food produced with minimal chemical input to ensure the least possible damage on ecosystems and human health (Organic).
  • Humane: Be attentive to healthy, comfortable conditions for animals (Free Range).
  • Fair: Work with suppliers that are sensitive to fair labour conditions for their employees (Fairtrade).

  • Keep your plastic bottle so you can refill that instead of buying a new one.
  • Bring your own cup to the coffee dock rather than using a disposable version, tastes better too!
  • ISS upcycle 1000 pcs from the computer rooms over a 5 year cycle.
  • They have policy across campus for 2-sided printing & photocopying and more centralized printing stations to reduce paper use.
